Bonnie Belle Foster Monroy passed away at 1:44 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.
She was born February 19, 1926, at home on a farm near Chula, Mo., where she grew up. She graduated from Laredo High School and moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1943. She was living in Los Angeles, Calif., when she met her husband, Victor Ceron Monroy, in 1951. They married May 2, 1952. He preceded her in death, along with her parents, Lillie A. (Parker) and Tommy Foster Sr., four brothers, J.T. Jr., Max H., S. Randall, and Roy M., as well as her nephew, Robert E. Foster, of Kansas City, Mo. Her love was God, family and dancing.
She is survived by one son, Victor F. Monroy and wife, Dawn; one daughter, Carla L. Travaglianti and husband, Vito; six grandchildren, Victor H. Monroy, Mandy M. Cox, Gabriel A. Monroy, Holly B. Monroy, Joseph V. Travaglianti and Josi A. Travaglianti; great-grandchild, Nicholas Monroy, and baby Cox to be born in November; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lillian Foster of Laredo, Mo., and Edith Foster of Independence.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, 816-781-2000. Graveside services to follow at 1 p.m. at the Stucker Cemetery, Laredo, Mo. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, No. 100, Kansas City, Mo. 64114.
