Jo Ann White, 75, Independence, MO passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 20, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church. Jo Ann was born January 24, 1934 in Pilot Grove, MO the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Jane Marie (Howard) Moore. She was employed with Met Life Insurance Company as a Regional Administrator, retiring in 1994. Jo Ann was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was President of the Fun and Crafts. She enjoyed volunteering with the Salvation Army and served as President numerous times with Centerpoint Hospital Women’s Auxiliary Unit. Jo Ann also enjoyed cooking for the church, making lap robes for the veterans and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, George White on February 15, 2009; brother, Dale Moore; sister, Mary Ward; and her parents. Survivors include her son, Eric White and his wife Jeanne of Goleta, CA; grandchildren, Truman and Samantha White and brother Lee Moore of Independence, MO.
