Ira Lewis Brosam, 88, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, at his home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Oak Grove Restoration Branch, 1203 N. Broadway, Oak Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Church or Good Shepherd Hospice.

Ira was born August 26, 1922, in Decatur, NE, the son of John & Cora (Roberts) Brosam. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He married Nelda Ann Curtis on January 22, 1950, and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2009. Ira was a retired stonemason and farmer. He was a poet and an avid whistler. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and studying and sharing the Scriptures. He served as an Elder of the Oak Grove Restoration Branch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and six siblings, John William Brosam, Jennie Lewis, Robert Brosam, Cora Jorgensen, Lawrence Brosam & Willis Brosam.

His survivors include three children: daughter, Sheila Lidberg & husband, Ron; son, Gary Brosam & wife, Sarah; and son Bruce Brosam & wife, Robin, all of Lone Jack, MO; two sisters: Betty Clemens and Bonnie Hirning, both of Independence, MO; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
