Elnora Anderson, 94, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Independence Manor Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road (816-523-1234), where visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, Mo. 64114.
Elnora was born December 7, 1914, to Lewis and Petra Dinehart. Elnora was raised on a farm near Manning, N.D. She married Lester Anderson on June 28, 1935. They lived in Manning until they retired. Upon retiring, they moved to Independence, Mo., in April of 1972. Elnora was a devout Christian and her faith was an important part of her life. She loved her family and always enjoyed seeing them. She will be greatly missed. She loved gardening and raised many vegetables and grew beautiful flowers. She loved cats and enjoyed having them as pets.
Elnora was preceded in death by her husband and sister. She is survived by a son, Laural “Andy” and wife, Sandra Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a daughter, Alma and husband, Delmar Lien of Independence, Mo. She is survived by five grandchildren, Ryan Anderson (Colleen) of Laveen, Ariz., Kristina Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif., Mark Lien (Indira) of Lenexa, Kan., Julie Reno (Travis) of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Brett Lien of Independence, Mo. She has four great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. She is survived by a brother, Elmo Dinehart (Velma) of Spokane, Wash.; and a sister, Dolores Brandt of Spokane, Wash.
