Charles O. Thompson, 72, Oak Grove, Mo., passed away Jan. 9, 2013.

Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Speaks Buckner Chapel. 300 Adams, Buckner, MO 64016; interment at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. before the service at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 6811 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Mission, KS 66202.

  Charley was born Sept. 18, 1940 in Macon, MO.  He graduated from Ft. Osage High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was a title examiner for the Chicago Title Company for forty-three years until his retirement in 2001.  He enjoyed time at the lake and trips to the Rocky Mountains

Charley was preceded in death by his son Brian Thompson and grandson David Thompson. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Betty Thompson, of the home; son Mark Thompson and wife Denise, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; brothers Bert Thompson, Jr., Raytown, Mo.; Raymond Thompson and wife Leatha, Wichita, Kan.; sister Darlene Barker and husband Vernon, Niangua, Mo; brother Harold Thompson and wife Betty, Blue Springs, Mo.; step-brother, Ben Surface and wife Betty of Independence, Mo.; special friends, Walter and Wilma Levett of Macon, Mo.; grandchildren Mark Thompson II and wife Jesica, Warrensburg, Mo.; Nicole Thompson, St. Louis, Mo.; Heather Camuso and husband Pete, Warrensburg, Mo.; Luke & Rachel Thompson; great-grandchildren Emma, Colton, Carson, Gia and Kegan.
