Helen Scott

Helen Scott, 94, of Independence, MO went to heaven to join her husband Rob on July 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Independence at Noon. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society of the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Scott was born July 20, 1913 in Glasgow, MT to John Byer and Iva (Hinkle) Byer. She enjoyed over 50 years of marriage to Rob Scott. Helen was an avid Royals fan who considered herself quite fortunate that she lived just a few blocks from the stadium. She was active in her church, especially the “Funagers.” Helen retired from Sears and remained totally dedicated to the company.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rob and all of her siblings. She leaves to remember her with joy a son Bob Scott, daughter Marilyn Johnston, 4 granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren.
