Franklin Walter Coil, 92, formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Frank was born July 12, 1920, in Independence, Mo., the son of Orie and Alice (Hattey) Coil. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Frank retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass in 1984 and was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 533. He was also a member of the VFW and the DAV. Frank was an avid golfer and bowler and had played cards with Harry Truman. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Coil; grandson, Brendan Coil; brother, Orie Coil, and his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Eula, of 63 years; daughter, Janna LeFeuvre and husband, Bruce; son, Wayne Coil; daughters-in-law, Marilyn Dunstan and Debbie Sue Coil; grandchildren, Aaron Coil and Kristen Mooer, Brian McKinsey, Matthew, Melissa and Katie Coil, Jenny Downs, Kimberly Davis, Mark and Johnny Scott, Peter Fitzgerald, Crystal Jones, Rebecca Chauhan, Angie, Jennifer, Matthew, Nicole, Carolina, and Cesar LeFeuvre; and 15 great-grandchildren.
