Evelyn Clara (McDonald) Campbell, 101, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Hidden Lake Care Center.

Evelyn was born April 8, 1907, in Westport, Iowa, the daughter of James S. and Clettie (McCannon) McDonald. She had worked as a cashier for Montgomery Ward for over 25 years before she retired. She was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church and the Jolly Sixties. She was married to Joseph E. Campbell on February 12, 1941; he preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale McDonald of Lodi, CA, and a sister, Hilda Wagner of Harrisonville, MO.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, 816-252-7900. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Rockwood Baptist Church or to Care Alternatives Hospice Care.
