Floyd Dennis Evans departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.

The visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Royer’s Funeral Home, 101 S.E. 15th St., Oak Grove, MO 64075. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, 400 SE 14th Street, Oak Grove, Mo. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Floyd was born September 21, 1939, in Clinton, Mo. In his early years, he lived in Raytown and Sedalia. Floyd graduated from Sedalia Smith-Cotton High School in 1957. Later he moved to Kansas City and lived for 10 years. Then in 1971, he moved with his family to the Oak Grove area where he remained the rest of his life. He retired after a 40-year career at Hallmark Cards, having worked in the Graphic Arts and Creative Divisions. His last position was Creative Print Center Manager. Floyd believed in giving back to his community. He volunteered and held many positions within the community of Oak Grove.  

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Frances (Long), to whom he has been married for 51 years; and his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Amber Evans; and his beloved granddaughter, Ellenora Lee “Ellee” Evans.

Memorials may be made to the Floyd Evans Scholarship Fund, in care of the Commercial Bank of Oak Grove or the American Heart Association.
