Arnold Knight, 66, of Independence, Mo., passed away in his home Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.

A memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 39th St., Independence, Mo. Cremation to follow.

Arnold was born March 24, 1946, to Maxine and Arnold Knight Sr. in Redland, Calif. He attended Van Horn High and Penn Valley Police Academy. Arnold married Linda (Cook) and they were devoted for over 43 years. His love in life were his wife and children, devoting his time and his heart to their passions. Arnold was an accomplished Warrant Officer for Jackson County Sheriffs Department, retiring in 2009. He also gave his time to Shriners, the Masons, and the Sheffield Assembly of God. Arnold was a member of the Community of Christ Church since childhood. He worked many off-duty jobs supporting peace and community for many events including football games and Christian youth gatherings. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; son, Robert Knight and wife, Tilisa, of Independence; daughter, Trish Knight and companion, John Butler, of Oak Grove; three grandchildren, Dylan, Dakota and Gage Knight; and sister, Arnett Knight of Warrensburg, Mo.
