Ernest Dale Leonard Sr., 72, of Kingsville, Missouri, passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2009, at his home. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, Missouri, with graveside at 1 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2009, in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Dale was born December 19, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Cecil and Edna (Briggs) Leonard. He married Glendene (Smith) on February 26, 1962. Dale loved fishing, reading, gardening, football and was especially proud of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
His survivors included his wife of 47 years; Glendene of the home; one son, Ernie Leonard and wife Angie of Holden, Mo.; four daughters, Autum Romines and husband Larry of Oak Grove, Mo., Carolyn Hammond and husband Sam of St. Louis, Mo., Shelby Kirk and husband Brian of Lone Jack, Mo., and Trina Davidson and husband Keith of Holden, Mo., four brothers, three sisters, 11 grandchildren; Heather, Eric, Ben, Caitlin, Elise, Patrick, Malaina, Brooke, Kelsey, Audrey and Brett, and five great grandchildren; Jacob, Lillian, Logan, Boston and Kingsley.
