Melba Moorman Troyer, formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Dec. 12, 2011, at the Batesville Healthcare Center in Batesville, Ark.
Melba was born March 14, 1918, in Knob Noster, Mo. At the age of eight, Melba was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Melba had a very strong belief in God and throughout her 93 years of life she never lost her faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; two sons, David and Gene; her parents, Erwin and Ethel Moorman; and three sisters, Helen Mengel, Thelma Kester and Alta June Tousley.
Melba leaves behind one nephew, Bill Mengel, Canon City, Colo.; and four nieces, Sylvia Mengel Bryant of Bradenton, Fla., Karen Tousley Hutchinson of Loveland, Colo., Johanna Tousley Escalante of Santa Cruz, Boliva, and Connie Kester Zuber of Lincoln, Mo. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Karen Troyer and several grandchildren from Batesville, Ark.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. June 14 at the Lilly Cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa.
