Frederick Earl McMullen Sr., 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home.
Frederick was born March 1, 1927, in Independence, Mo., to Lee Roy and Cecil Maude McMullen. He was a devoted family man who’s greatest passion was taking care of those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Rose (Wrigley) McMullen; two sons, Frederick E. McMullen Jr. and wife, Virginia, and Larry McMullen and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Kathy Jones and husband, Jeff; five granddaughters, Jennifer Hauck, Janelle Dozar, Amber Koebernick, Molly Huh, Elizabeth Queensland; four great-grandchildren, Ashton, Dalton, Allison and Rowan; one sister, Relia Layland; and two brothers, Delbert and Merrill McMullen.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. service Thursday, May 24, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Mo. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
