Dr. William N. Cox, 72, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away Dec. 23, 2012, at his home.

Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 28, at 11:30 a.m. at Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 9 a.m.  Burial at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.

Dr. Cox was born July 20, 1940, in Drumright, Okla. He fulfilled his calling by treating patients as a family physician, primarily in Eastern Jackson County, for 30 years.  He loved spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents William O. Cox and Nellie Cox, his in-laws Ray and Virginia Patterson, his brothers Donald Cox and Duane Cox, and his nephew Bucky Gadd.

Dr. Cox is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia (Patterson) Cox, his devoted children Kimberley R. (Cox) Fournier, Dr. William Joshua Cox, his son-in-law James Fournier, his daughter-in-law Ana Cox, and his four grandchildren – his greatest joy in life – Gabrielle Fournier, Khiara Cox, Luke Fournier, and Karina Cox. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Elva and Erwin Gadd, and his brother and sister-in-law Ted and Ida Cox. He will be missed as well by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his other brother and sister-in-laws.
