Francis F. Admire, 77, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at the Shangrila Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 17, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons, Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Francis was born April 21, 1932, in Bucklin, Mo., to Thomas P. and Mary E. (Jones) Admire, and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a Marine Corps Veteran and had retired as an Inspector for the General Motors, Leeds Plant.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia A. Admire in 1978 and Pamela (Admire) Ferro in 2000. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Imogene Admire of the home; a daughter, Penny E. Admire of Grain Valley, Mo.; two brothers, Frank Lloyd Admire of Galesberg, Ill., and Theodore Admire of Florida; three grandsons, Matt Keefer and Steven Grenawalt, both of Independence, Mo., and Travis Admire of Grain Valley, Mo.; a granddaughter, Nicole Ferro, and a great-grandson, Hunter Thresher, both of Independence.
