Albert L. Solomon, 86, of Independence, Mo., passed away March 20, 2013.  A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. memorial service on Monday, March 25, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. 

Albert was born June 23, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan., to Paul and Myrtle M. (Blevins) Solomon.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during WWII.  After the war Albert went to work for Union Pacific Railroad, where he retired after 44 years. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite Solomon; three sons, Richard Solomon, David Luff and Eric Luff; one daughter, Cindy DeSelms; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northcare Hospice, 2900 Clay Edwards Drive, North Kansas City, MO 64116.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com
