Thurman Everett Wolgamott, 92, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Dec. 11, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thurman was born July 18, 1920, in Galt, Mo., to Mabel Wolgamott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Solomon Islands and the invasion of the Philippines. He retired from Armco Steel, where he worked for 30 years as a design engineer. He was a member of Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Bessie.

He leaves his sons, Walter Keith Wolgamott and his wife, Kathryn, and Robert Lee Wolgamott and his wife, Mayla Adnan; sister, Venus Vandergriff; seven grandchildren, Durenda, Amberlee, Jeremy, David, Aisha, Claire and Juliet; and four great-grandchildren.
