Robert C. ‘Pops’ White of Sparks, Nev., formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his home.
Pops served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an E-5 Sergeant for six years. He then worked for the General Motors Corp. for 46 years, before retiring in 2004. He loved boating and camping in the beautiful mountains with his friends. Pops loved coming home to spend time with his family and many friends. He touched many hearts, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, “a one of a kind.”
He left behind two daughters, Stacy White and Tina Denton; three grandchildren, Michaela White, and Kevin and Jamie Berning; and two great-grandchildren, Mariah Groves and Carter Day.
He will not be alone, meeting him at heaven’s gate will be his parents, Emmett and Thelma White, and Todd and Kelsey Schmitt, he missed them all dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1000 hall, 1002 E. U.S. 24, Independence, MO 64050, 816-836-3015.
