Emery E. Jennings

Emery E. Jennings, 98, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in Commerce, GA.

He was born in Holden, MO on April 13, 1910 to James and Elizabeth Jennings. As a High Priest in the Community of Christ Church (formerly RLDS), Emery gave over 50 years in service to the church, communities in Michigan, Tennessee and Missouri, as well as his own personal family. Anyone who was blessed to sit in a service with Emery at the pulpit knew that the church was his life. He maintained a positive outlook, even in the face of extreme challenges faced by the RLDS church before the name change.

His beloved wife, Mary S. Jennings, preceded Emery in death.

Emery is survived by daughters, Ruth Meyer and Jane Lapinski; sons, Paul and John; grandchildren Steve Meyer, Jason Jennings, Mike Meyer, Sterling Lapinski, Emery Lapinski, Eston Jennings and Hannah Jennings; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who lovingly remember him.
