Gloria J. (Loomis) Conway, 79, of Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Independence.

Cremation is planned, with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date in Wisconsin.

Gloria was born January 29, 1933, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Paul William and Ethel Irene (Stankey) Loomis and grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from public schools there. She was a beloved mother and homemaker, who had also worked as a store manager for Woman’s World clothing store in Overland Park, Kan., for a number of years. She enjoyed animals and was active in animal rescue organizations.

She is survived by her children, Richard Conway and his wife, Elaine, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Barbara Gnazzo and Michelle Conway, both of Independence, Mo.; a brother, David Loomis of La Crosse, Wis.; four grandchildren, Jason Conway, David Conway, Amy Coney and Matthew Gnazzo; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Coney, Robert Wharton, Malia Marek and Killian Conway. She was preceded in death by a son, David Conway, in 1989.
