Enid Montes, 84, of Independence, Mo., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, followed by a prayer service at 2 p.m., at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Enid was a lifelong resident of Independence, Mo. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1946. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raul Montes; daughters, Melani Leighton-Floyd (Charles), Janet Ambrosius (Harold), Julie Berger (Dan), and Christine Meyers (Steven); seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages contributions to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness, P.O. Box 413247, Kansas City, MO 64141.
