Gertrude Florence Brooks, 99, Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

Gertrude was born October 15, 1913, in Sherbrook, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Lorenzo and Delimma (Tougas) Brassard. She retired from Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass., as a restoration technician for old books. Gertrude enjoyed playing bridge and bingo.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean Miller and husband, Robert, of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Marilyn Sandow and her husband, John Victor, of Mystic, Conn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Anderson in 1986, her second husband, Ellsworth Brooks in 2010, and her daughter, Judith Treschitta.

Memorial services will be at a later date in Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Autism Society of America Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com.
