Eva H. Ellingsworth, 94, formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Oct. 18, 2009, at a Denver area Hospice Care Center.

She was born Valentines Day, 1915, to August Gustave and Otillija (Wollnick) Nitz of Tyro, Kan. She had five older brothers who preceded her in death. She married Vaughn Leroy Biggerstaff in March of 1933, who preceded her in death. They had four children, Shirley “Pam” O’Dell of Independence, Mo., Phyllis Jean Lucero of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carol Sue Helton of Pueblo, Colo., and Larry Vaughn Biggerstaff (who died in infancy).
She married Phillip Watt Ellingsworth on April 3, 1948, who preceded her in death. They had two children, Linda Lee Krtinich of Golden, Colo., and Jainie Mae Zinser of Hereford, Texas. Eva is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to her five brother’s children. She was an excellent cook who loved to cook for family and friends and she had a strong faith in God and her church.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at South Crysler Restoration Branch Church, 16101 Salisbury Road, Independence, Mo. 64050. In lieu of flowers, we suggest contributions in her memory to (CPRS) Center Place Restoration School, 819 W. Waldo Ave., Independence, Mo. 64050 or Collier Hospice Center, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, Colo. 80033. Her family may be reached through lisamorris@hughes.net.
