Grace Evelyn Smith

Grace Evelyn Smith, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the home of her surviving son.

Grace is survived by her children, Deanna Spence and husband Bill and Robert Smith, PhD and wife Sue; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and half brother, John Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Smith; son, David Smith; two grandsons; parents; two brothers and one sister.

 A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 5 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, 816-252-7900. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
