Richard L. “Dick” Carnal Jr., 66, Blue Springs, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, Mo. 64015, 816-229-3276. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital.
Dick was born February 15, 1943, in Pitcher, Okla., to Richard and Jerry (Roe) Carnal Sr. He worked for the Oldham Sausage Company, R.B. Rice Sausage Company and retired from Sara Lee Sausage Division in Baltimore, Md., in 1993 as Vice President. After retirement, he was a local grocery business owner from 1993-2004. Dick was a member of the Masons of Blue Springs, Scottish Rite of Kansas City, Ararat Shrine of Kansas City and the Harley Davidson HOG Chapter of Kansas City.
His survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Carnal; sons, Tracy and Connie Carnal, Blue Springs, Mo., and Shaun Carnal, Blue Springs; siblings, Therasa Groff, Overland Park, Kan., Priscilla Wilson, Redding, Calif., Don and Nancy Carnal, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Henry Carnal, Oklahoma City, Okla., and John Carnal, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and grandchildren, Brandon and Caleb Carnal.
