Bonnie Dean McAllister, 76, Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, November 16, 2009.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, Mo. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Bonnie was born November 29, 1932, in Cross Timbers, Mo., the daughter of Herman John and Jewell (Miller) Hart. She retired in 1985 from Lake City Ammunition as a tool setter. Bonnie enjoyed water skiing in her younger days, traveling and all types of needlework, including sewing and quilting. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory McAllister in 1970; three sisters; two brothers; and her parents.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles R. McAllister; daughters, Deborah Gaulter and her husband Gary; Beverly Castle; and Melinda McCall and her husband Gary all of Independence; grandchildren, Jennifer Gaulter; Michael Gaulter; Jackie Layton and her husband Carl; Bryan Castle; Carrie Jarman and her husband Travis and Corey West; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Jean Thomas, Wanda Robinson and Lonna Bea Shaw and numerous nieces and nephews.
