Alan Lee Spicer, 50, of Independence, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.
Al was born on July 17, 1958 in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of Leland & Geraldine (McCoy) Spicer. He grew up in Country Club Hills, IL and lived all of his adult life in the Blue Springs and Independence areas. He owned and operated Spicer Floor Covering in Independence.
His survivors include his mother: Geraldine Spicer of Monmouth, IL; his companion: Tammara Devine; two brothers: Rod Spicer of Bates City, Mo. and Ray Spicer of DeKalb, IL; and one sister: Julie Spicer of St. Paul, MN. Al was preceded in death by his father, Leland Spicer, in 2003.
Al leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and family members who will miss him dearly.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 SW17th Street, Blue Springs, Mo. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-1:30 pm on Friday preceding the service. There will be a time for fellowship immediately following the service at the First Christian Church, 701 NW 15th St, Blue Springs, Mo.
