Roland Kelley Briggs

Roland “Ron” Kelley Briggs, 89, Lamoni, IA died August 13, 2008 in Independence, MO.

Ron earned an Associate of Arts from Graceland College and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Iowa. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the Community of Christ Stone Church, and attended Heritage House and The Groves.

Ron is survived by his wife Adeline Harris Briggs, Independence, MO; sister Margaret Baker; children William Briggs; Ronald Briggs; Sally Poindexter; stepdaughters Sandra Gustafson; Ruth Siegfried; Judith Siegfried; Marjorie Foster; and thirteen grandchildren. His parents and six siblings preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 22, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, 816-252-7900. Cremation. A committal service will follow at 3:30 p.m., Friday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni.
