To the editor:
St. Mary’s Medical Center is a jewel in the middle of the suburbs of Blue Springs. After completing several outpatient tests and surgery with an overnight stay, the very thought of closing this facility is criminal. From the time you check in to discharge, the staff could not have been more professional or caring. When asked where they lived, most were from Blue Springs or surrounding communities and had been employed for a period of time.
When this wonderful care for patients works, why in the world would there be a need for change just for the sake of change? If it works, leave it alone. Let it be a smaller community medical center that provides excellent service for that part of Eastern Jackson County. Bigger is not always better.
