We are making Homer Simpson look like a genius. Who in their right mind would give their retirement money to a politician and expect it to be there when they retire? Face it, all the money we have been paying in to “Social Security” is gone. Since the retirees of today are responsible for electing the politicians who created this mess, I do not believe our children should feel the slightest obligation to pay for any future entitlements.
Many great empires and countries have fallen in the past. Rome fell when bread and circuses became more important to its citizens than maintaining the empire. It seems to me we are close to the point of irreversible decay. Are our citizens more worried about their entitlements than their country?
Every time an entitlement is increased, we chip away at our property rights guaranteed in the 4th Amendment. Every time taxes are increased to support these entitlements, we chip away at these 13th Amendment protecting against involuntary servitude. Every time we borrow money, we chip away at the rights of the future citizens of America. In short, every time anyone cashes a federal entitlement check you are committing a bit of treason against the concepts in the Constitution of United States.
This Fourth of July we can really honor those who fought and died for the ideals in the Constitution by refusing to take any entitlements now and in the future.
