To the editor:
I must respond to the letter to the editor headlined “American dream needs no subsidies” by Victor Scott. Sir, you are correct in attributing the current economic situation to government entitlements, but I don’t believe it is as you see it. The government entitlements that opened the door for the current economic situation are those given to the wealthy, like the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1932, which turned two generations of middle class equity into a Wall Street casino chip.
