To the editor:

I would like to express my appreciation to the Mid-Continent Public Library for hosting the Homeschool Expo this past Wednesday at the Genealogy Center on Lee’s Summit Road in Independence.

My children and I attended, and while they enjoyed the many activities, crafts, and learning centers, I was able to gather information about educational opportunities in our community. Many of the opportunities were from the various library branches that offer the Discovery Clubs to provide fun and educational programs for home-schooled children of all ages.

I usually use the North Independence Branch of the library and have always found the staff there extremely courteous and helpful. Now I look forward to checking out some of the other branches, including making use of our new Genealogy Center.
