Winner Road homes were hit by vandals, political cowards, stupid teenagers, trespassers and/or thieves Friday night. What happened? Our political signs in our front yards were stolen. In some cases, pro-life signs replaced those stolen. While filing a report with the Police Department, I was told this has been a problem throughout the city. If caught, perpetrators can be charged with robbery, trespassing, and possibly sued for violations of the freedom of speech. People have the right to place political signs in their own yards but do not have the right to steal the signs belonging to others, nor do they have the right to post their own signs in someone else’s yard.

I have a message for the thieves: People do notice right away when their signs have been stolen and/or replaced with opposition signs. Your signs do not stay long enough to have an effect, and the negative energy directed your way after your actions does affect you and your candidate. You can also end up with a criminal record just for being incredibly stupid.
Folks, it is just not worth it, thieves of political signs, your stupidity is what will destroy you.

If you want to have a positive effect in the political arena, you can volunteer for your candidate, speak positively about your candidate in various arenas, post your own signs in your own yards, and contribute to your candidate financially. Being involved is as important as voting, no matter your preferences, ideologies, beliefs, or political leanings. The energy then is positive and engenders respect even when being disagreed with.
