To the editor:
My office is at the corner of Blue Ridge Cut-off and Blue Ridge Boulevard north of U.S. 40. During the primary election, Dwon Littlejohn, a candidate for Jackson County sheriff, placed a four-foot-by-six-foot sign in the vacant lot next to our building.
The primary was in August. The sign is still lying on the ground where Mr. Littlejohn placed it. We requested he remove the sign, but it remains. If this were a garage sale sign or for-rent sign, the city of Independence would have removed it months ago, but they have left this eyesore lying beside Blue Ridge.
Seeing the number of political signs remaining this day after the election reminded me that others may be remiss in collecting their signs as well. I would just like to remind Mr. Littlejohn, and other candidates, to remove their signs from our streets. Thank you!
