To the editor:
We the people seem to have certain legislators who do not care about the voters. At the hearing those saying “no” far out numbered those wanting this transfer station by 98 percent.
The Interstate 435 corridor on the east side of Kansas City smells bad enough with the stench from water treatment facilities. Why add more misery to the people along this area. Because it’s in the county and has had no representation to speak of, for many years. If Deffenbaugh Industries wants to put up a transfer station, then put it up in an area outside of cities.
You would never find a facility like this next to Jackson County Legislator Theresa Garza Ruiz, Dennis Waits, Greg Grounds or Bob Spence’s houses.
