To the editor:
With the terrible news of the loss of lives at the Connecticut grade school, I would like to suggest we emulate the retired military I saw standing guard at his children’s grade school.
Why can’t the Independence Board of Education of Independence shave off monies, or float a bond issue, that will make available finances to pay retired military to help our children’s safety.
I would feel much safer for our children if they had a trained protector there for them.
