To the editor:
Back in the Old Testament, the people who worshiped the pagan god Dagon offered their children as sacrifices to their god made of stone. This has been happening in the United States since 1973 with the Roe vs. Wade decision. Instead of the worship of the god Dagon, it has become the worship of the god of Convenience. How often clergy have heard something like this from a woman who had an abortion: “It wasn’t convenient for me to have a child at that point in my life.” How sad.
Since 1973, 54,559,615 babies have been offered to the god of Convenience. The sad thing is those babies have joined the garbage heap. The Bible makes it clear that every fetus in the womb is God-created. Read Psalm 139:14-15 or Ecclesiasties 11:5, and there are other passages which basically say the same thing.
