I fear the Democrats have lost their way in the fog of war leaders at the top do not understand what is occurring in the heat of the battle.

Please stop this madness. The health care bills you are supporting are the worst pieces of legislation to have ever been produced. Pause and think about what you are doing. It started out with the goal of insuring the poor who cannot insure themselves. That has all but been abandoned and now your party is meddling in the private matters of citizens who have their own health insurance.

Yes, health insurance is expensive. Yes, patients want the best and they want it now. Yes, the cost curve has to be slowed down, and yes, we want to care for those who can not care for themselves. However, we don’t want the government to solve our problems, especially when it gets personal, like our heath care. We want to solve our own problems and take care of our own families.

Face it, the government track record when it comes to money matters is abysmal. If you exclude the transfers from Social Security the federal government has only had a balanced budget once in the last 50 years.  Social Security, Medicaid, Amtrak, Postal System, General Motors, Chrysler, all financially insolvent. We don’t have to debate this issue any further.
The Public Plan Option is especially a bad idea and bad policy.  Medicare is a solid example. You know that Medicare loses $9 million per hour. You know that it is a lifesaver for the elderly. You know that it is financially unsustainable. You know that it needs to be reformed. But you support modeling the private insurance market into the same Public Plan death spiral model.
Why are you doing this? You know the facts and you know better. The most disturbing part of all this is that you know the outcome already. There is no difference between high insurance premiums and high taxes. Money is money. And we as a country no longer have any thanks to both parties reckless spending, but especially the Democrats passing the stimulus spending bill.

There is plenty of blame to go around. Employers have been too ambivalent about the cost of health care. We continue to purchase it and follow the commercial insurance companies’ lead on design and products.  You can help stop the movement of the current health care bills through Congress.

Stop it dead in its tracks. Give the business owners one last chance to reform the insurance market. This legislation has been a wake up call to us.  We will not waste the opportunity to solve this problem if given one last chance.

If we don’t solve it, then we deserve the nuclear political solution.  There are many solutions that are available but have not had the business and political leadership to move forward.
Too many to list but the main ones are: 1. Insurance exchanges that are consumer centered, not employer centered; 2. Medical homes that are paid with capitation formula and not fee for service; 3. Nutrition management.  This is past the wellness programs. This concentrates on putting fewer calories in our mouths; 4. Control the five major cost drivers in health care.  Here they are: Heart disease, lung cancer, trauma-related disorders, mental disorders, and pulmonary conditions. Resolve obesity and 60 percent of cancers do not occur, 90 percent of diabetes does not occur, 74 percent of cardiovascular disorders are resolved. An integrated delivery system with Electronic Medical Records can make the Medical Home Model successful in confronting these problems head on.

Please do the right thing for America.  Be the voice of No, Hell No!
