To the editor:
I was wondering about the rationale for a news story on Sen. Claire McCaskill’s opening of an office in Independence, a re-election office? I hear she is not going to the Democratic convention. Perhaps she will be in our area during that event.
When was the last time she was in town to speak or meet with voters? Did she ask our thoughts on bailing out the auto industry or the banking industry? Or on the health-care proposal? Did she wonder what we all thought when she endorsed Obama over Hillary? She has not and does not have much use for the blue-collar votes beyond the eastern side of the state. Did she pay for the article as part of her re-election campaign? If not, could The Examiner please give the three Republican candidates the same coverage and “newsy” notice? I’d like to know what they have to say.
Yes, I voted for Claire previously and, yes, I’m not sure I will again.
