To the editor:
Shame on those in Congress who refuse to pass the jobs bill. This bill would put millions of Americans back to work, rebuilding our roads, bridges, aging water and sewer pipes and more all across the country. It can’t be the money it would cost. Congress doesn’t bat an eye when spending trillions on two ridiculous wars, sending brave military into danger and death and some coming back with horrific injuries, forever changing the lives of many families.
Congress is whining, throwing tantrums, and making mean, hateful speeches, while families and people without a job have to wait while this bickering is going on.
I personally want congressional pay and pensions cut in half, since they don’t favor keeping minimum wage and don’t want the worker to have a pension. Next, they should be allowed to have one basic health care, since they don’t favor anyone having good health care. Another nice thing would be cut off all oil subsidies to big oil companies. The next thing to do would be to cut all agricultural subsidies to anyone in Congress who is receiving these subsidies. Then, let’s have term limits. Let’s just do it!
Last and most important, I want Congress to keep their behinds in Washington and for once do the people’s business. The taxpayer is tired of paying for your rides home across the country, your vacations and your unnecessary “fact-finding” trips overseas.
Congress should work 11 months of the year. They better start doing their job or they might suffer the voters wrath in their next elections.
