All members, including the chief of the Independence Police Department, who participated in the identification and apprehension of the three people charged with assaulting with a bat and critically injuring the food deliveryman on Hall Road on Jan. 11 deserve recognition and should be rewarded with commendations for their exemplary performance and service to the entire city.
