Aloha, my friends! It is time once again for the semi-annual Adopt-A-Thon and cookout at the Independence PetsMart. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Animals Best Friends volunteers will be at PetsMart with Independence Animal Shelter dogs for adoption, and ABF dogs to meet potential adopters.
The cookout starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. You will be able to get a grilled hot dog, chips, soda and cookie for $3. ABF volunteers will be there to serve this great lunch and talk to individuals looking for a pet to join their family.
My name is Rosebud, and I will be there to greet people. I am a 2-year-old Labrador mix. I have eight siblings. All of them have homes but my sisters Petunia, China, and me. We are really sweet girls, and we would make wonderful four-legged family members if given the chance. I admit that we need some training, but we are smart kids and would learn quickly. Of course we would still want to party now and then. We could possibly be fostered by the right individuals.
Petunia and I will be at PetsMart for the luau this Saturday along with several of our ABF brothers and sisters. Please come out and meet us and have lunch with the volunteers. You might realize that having a pet would brighten your life and bring you lots of joy. We can do that, you know, if given the chance.
These animals are available for adoption at the Independence Animal Shelter. Visit the shelter at 875 Vista Drive or call 816-325-7207 for more information. If you have an animal control problem, call 816-325-7205.
There are lots more dogs, puppies, cats and kittens available for adoption.
