1 What is your involvement in the Maywood Merchants Association?
 I serve as president.

  2 When was it founded?
The Maywood Merchants Association was founded in 2003, after business and property owners joined together for the purpose of acquiring new infrastructure for the area, increasing public safety in this district and creating a sense of community with business owners, property owners and residents.

3 What are the number of members?
Currently, we have 25 members.

4 What is the purpose of the Maywood Merchants Association?
The purpose of the Maywood Merchants Association is to aid in revitalizing the district and to promote economic growth in this area. Maywood would ultimately like to become an Arts and Entertainment District.
 
5 What has the association accomplished?
The Association has been quite successful in that Maywood is currently in the midst of a Street Enhancement Project which will provide the area with new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, park benches, landscaping as well as green pendant streetlights. Our future plans are to attract more retail space to one of the few gateways to Independence: Truman Road.
