1 What is Golden Living Center and where is it located?

Golden Living is a 118-bed Medicare Certified skilled nursing facility located on the eastern side of Independence. (17451 E. Medical Center Parkway) Our facility is able to meet the needs of many different levels of care. We offer a variety of specialized, professional health care services for both short and long term. 

2 You are part of new ownership. What kind of changes can we expect at Golden Living? 

The facility used to be called Indep. Health Care; part of Beverely Enterprises. It is now owned by Golden Ventures. You can expect top quality care from staff that are committed to excellence in providing Quality of life for our residents. We are now providing services that will make this facility a leader in the elder care industry.

3 This is National Nursing Home Week. Why is it important to put some special recognition on senior living centers?

This is a nationally recognized week where extra special attention is paid to both residents and professionals who are called to serve our senior population with the respect and dignity they deserve. 

4 At a ceremony Monday, Golden Living donated $1,000 to the Northwest CDC Senior Living program, and the city matched the $1,000 donation. What was the inspiration behind the donation?

The inspiration came from older adults helping other older adults. This was our way of reaching out to the NWCDC community and saying thank you for all you have done and continue to do. There are so many people in this organization who have and continue to so graciously give of themselves to make this community a better place to live.

5 What kind of events or plans do you have in the coming months?

Golden Living Center was just approved for a major renovation and upgrades that will begin within the next 30 - 60 days. The plan will include a 20-bed private rehab suites with hardwood floors, flat screen TV's, carpet in the hallways and new paint throughout. It is going to be very exciting and we would like to invite the community to come and take a tour of what Golden Living has to offer!
