Scholastic Honors: Top 1 percent; recipient of the McCoy Award; selected for the Missouri Scholars Academy; named Teresa Carpenter Outstanding Journalist and received the Outstanding Newspaper Editor Award.
High school and community activities: Involved with the newspaper and the yearbook; member of the marching band and symphonic band and member of the National Honor Society and the Quill and Scroll Society.
1 To what do you attribute your academic success?
I attribute my academic success to having supportive people around me who want me to succeed and push me to do better.
2 Who was your biggest influence on your studies?
My brother, Danny, was my biggest influence on my studies because I always wanted to do as well as he did. He also influenced many of my academic decisions. I’ve looked up to him throughout all of my schooling.
3 What was your favorite activity in high school? Why?
Band was my favorite activity because it’s such a great family to be a part of. I’ve loved every year in band because of what we’ve done and the people I’ve met.
4 What college do you plan to attend and why?
I am going to attend Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. because I’m majoring in elementary education, and it’s an excellent school for education.
5 What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
Ten years from now, I see myself teaching an elementary class at a school that I love.
