Generations! A generation is: The act of producing offspring; a bringing into being – a single stage in succession of descent; the average time then, about 30 years, between birth of successive generations. In more modern times, it’s probably about 15 to 20 years a generation.
This eight-generation photo consists of family (right to left) Mother, Bertha Jacobs, grandma Perrine, great grandma Hall (sitting) and baby Lucille Jacobs, daughter. Younger generation (right to left) mother B.J. Noltensmeyer, granddaughter, Jody Jackson, great grandson Kayleb Jefferson and daughter DeAnna Boyer. From early 1800s to 2008 – these generations were family thro time. Talents of baking, cooking, housekeeping, seamstress, child rearing (and in those days mothers stayed home, cared for them and dad brought home the bacon – food). There were musical talents, acrobatic scenes, artistic abilities and others also.
All children were taught to work and there was time for activitity – but work was 1st priority – inside and outside. From 1854, my great grandma Hall, to 2008, my great grandson – it’s like 154 years of eight generations of family, only last four generations are a living humanity in 2008!
