Jacob T. Freeman, 17, attended the American Legion Boys State of Missouri June 14-21 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
Boys State is a program designed to educate young leaders on citizenship, leadership and government. During the weeklong program, the nearly 1,000 student leaders build an entire state government.
Freeman, who just completed his junior year at Blue Springs High School, was sponsored by the Air Force Association Chapter 185 and Jerome Hughes. He has receieved numerous awards and medals including a letter in orchestra, the Son of the Revolution War Medal Best in Flight award, a bronze ROTC medal, an academic excellence award, an award for future pilot for the Blue Angels, a Jr. ROTC acheivement award, the community sevice award (three consecutive years) from ROTC and many more.
Freeman is the son of Cheryl Freeman-Kongorski and Eric Freeman.
