A Senior Citizens Luncheon is held at the Grain Valley Community Center on the first Wednesday of each month. The “seniors” arrive at 11:30 a.m., eat at noon and are out by 1 p.m. and can then play bingo in the Winona Burgess Room at the Community Center which is located behind the Grain Valley City Hall on Main Street.
The luncheon on May 7 was another fun time. Over 100 people attended.
Jeff Fisher of the Grain Valley Public Works department reminded the audience of several upcoming events.
Event flyers were placed on the tables for the attendees.
DJ Malotte said a few words about “The Gifting Gals.” She reminded the attendees that there were Gifting Gals brochures on the registration table for those who would like more information.
The Gifting Gals sponsored a drawing, for which they had acquired donations for gifts. Denise Langevin, Grain Valley Pharmacy, kicked off their participation with
The Gifting Gals in providing gifts for the prize drawings at the luncheons by donating five ten dollar gift cards for Patricia’s grocery in Grain Valley and five ten dollar gift gas cards for Casey’s.

• The five $10 gift cards to Patricia’s grocery in Grain Valley donated by Grain Valley Pharmacy were won by Louellen Scroggins, Hasseteen Rumbo, Mary Zinner, Robert Neubauer, and Wendy Keys.
• The five $10 gift cards to Casey’s donated by Grain Valley Pharmacy were won by: Audrey Hartsock, John Coolidge, Mary Butler, Viola Meinershagen, and George Williamson.
A special surprise floral arrangement donated by DJ Malotte for a May birthday prize was awarded to Evelyn Coolidge.
DJ said a special thank you to Paul Morganroth for pulling together the Senior Citizen Monthly luncheons and also expressed appreciation to all the other helpers who make these luncheons such a success.
