On Friday, Aug. 22, RIchard and Jeanne Sterrett of Independence donated their 1978 Chevrolet RV to Cars 4 Heroes. This is a sub organization of the Cars 4 Christmas organization. This group provides automobiles to wounded veterans in need. The Sterretts are strong supporters of the United State military. Both have vivid memories of World War II and the many sacrifices of their friends and family. Mr. Sterrett had two brothers who were POW’s in WWII. Charlie was in the Army and Gene was in the Air Force. Mrs. Sterrett’s brother Bob served in the Navy. They felt this was a fitting tribute. Pictured here are Richard and Jeanne Sterrett with the founder of Cars 4 Heroes Mr. Terry Franz. Donation information is available at www.cars4christmas.org. – Submitted to The Examiner
