1 What inspired you to write the book?
The story idea came from my ladies’ Bible study class as we read Philip Yancey’s book “Prayer,” and we talked about how prayer often feels like a one-way communication. My novel explores what might happen if God spoke to us too, out loud.

2 What can people learn from reading your book?
That we all share some universal feelings and experiences, we all have low points in our lives, but that God is always there, and we're often connected to one another in ways we may not realize.

3 Everyone connects with God in their own ways, and some people are searching for answers. What advice can you give them?
I’d suggest spending time every day just being quiet, sitting still, closing your eyes, and trying to calm your mind, even when it's difficult. I think it’s in the quiet moments that we’re most open to receiving God’s grace and direction.

4 Have you written any other books that are non-religious in subject matter, and do you plan to write more?
This was my first novel, though I’ve written some other short stories. I’m working on a second novel now, which is a continuation of some of the characters and themes in this book.

5 Do you feel a calling to help spread the word of God through fictional stories that people can relate to?
Yes, in fact, I left the corporate world because I felt God leading me in a new direction. I feel drawn to write stories about the common struggles we all face, and to show that with God’s love and grace, we can find hope to make it through anything.
